Education Assistance Programme Food Project Humanitarian Aid

In April 2022, with support from the people of Turkey through IHH, EGG-Tanzania distributed 459 food packages to boarding secondary schools and an orphanage centre in Morogoro.

Varying the foods available for breaking the fast and the night-time meal during the holy month of Ramadhan is one of the challenges boarding secondary school students face, and one that often needs support from people outside the school.

Recognising this, the Food Packages Project designed by Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania (EGG-Tanzania), with the support of the people of Turkey through the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, distributed four hundred and fifty-nine food packages in April 2022.

Students who benefited were from Morogoro Secondary School, Nelson Mandela Secondary School and Kilakala Secondary School, as well as At-Taun Muslim Secondary School, Mzumbe High School and the Al Amood Orphanage Centre in the Kichangani area.

This year's food packages contained rice, wheat flour, beans, sugar and cooking oil.
